Bayelsa State Health Insurance Scheme (BHIS) was established by law on the 19th of July, 2013 with a purpose to give healthcare delivery to the citizens and those living in the state. It's mandate is to ensure that healthcare services are given to indigenes of the state, within the formal sector, and thereafter private individuals, etc.
